Astana with a competitive team in Algarve

The WorldTeam Astana will take part in the 43rd Volta ao Algarve (15-19 February) with a very competitive roster.

The Spanish cyclist Luis León Sánchez will lead the team. One year after his victory on the top of the Fóia and his abandon, one day later, after a crash during the individual time trial, Luis León Sánchez will try to fight for the best positions.

Two times spanish time trial champion, Luis León Sánchez will have with him two other specialists on individual exercises: the Russian champion, Sergei Chernetskii, and the Italian rider Moreno Moser, third on the last year European Championship.

The Spanish Pello Bilbao and the Italian Michele Scarponi are the “weapons” of the team for the two uphill finishes of the 2017 Volta ao Algarve.

Oscar Gatto, Dario Cataldo and Jesper Hansen complete the team selection.
